Aryavart refers to the Land of Aryas. Arya in Sanskrit means “noble”. The name of this organization was given as Aryavart because it was started for a noble cause, of collecting and donating blood from the wealthy to the needy.
The idea for creating this organization started from the day when Gaurang and friends were in NCC (National cadet corps) No 2 Gujarat Air squadronAhmedabad, and one day they arranged blood for a senior whose mother was hospitalized and was in need of blood. The feeling of arranging blood was so enthralling that it gave Gaurang the idea to create an organization that would help people in need. The very next moment he called upon his friends from NCC and shared his idea with them. The cause was so noble that no one could say no and the journey of Aryavart began.
It is said that the start to anything is always tough& the same happened here, but going by the proverb “God helps those who help themselves” Gaurang kept on moving forward in his life. At first man to man blood donation was there but later as time passed by they (The Aryavartians) started getting more and more donors as well as patients.
Today their organization is linked with many hospitals like Civil Hospital, VS Hospital, Sardaben Hospital etcand they have helped many needy. Later the demand from the patients for blood grew to such extent that they tied up with Indian Red cross society and Gujarat cancer research institute and with their support they have succeeded in organizing 25 successful blood donation camps and have helped round about 15000 people.
As of now approx 6500 to 7000 donors have donated blood and Aryavart is running successfully and they are expecting the same success in the near future. Along with blood donation Aryavart is also engaged in spreading happiness to the orphans and elderly people. Theyorganize picnics; celebrate different festivals with the orphans and the old people in order to spread love and happiness.
Aryavart dream is the making of an India where donors wait for the patients to donate blood instead of patients searching donors and they are and they will also be focusing on the education of the poor kids in the near future, for which they are ready to cross all obstacles and are constantly working upon it
